 Abby Weick, 5th Grade

  • B.A. (Southwest Minnesota State University)
  • Year’s At St. Mary’s: 3

I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. This is my second year teaching at St. Mary’s as the fifth grade teacher. Prior to teaching at St. Mary’s I substitute taught at many area schools, as well as long-term substitute taught in the preschool classroom at the Hancock School.
My dedication and love of the St. Mary’s School and community developed immediately starting my first year. My first year of teaching was drastically different than most; moments of planning and prepping for that “perfect” first year were put on hold due to the devastating flood St. Mary’s endured that summer. However, through all the mess, the message I quickly learned was that St. Mary’s was a strong family that pulled together. Through faith in God, support from the school community, and patience through  His plan, the many blessings of St. Mary’s were evident for all to see. I got my “perfect” first year because of St. Mary’s, and I cannot wait to continue as fifth grade teacher this coming year!
