 Abby Weick, 5th Grade

  • B.A. (Southwest Minnesota State University)
  • Year’s At St. Mary’s: 4

I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2013 with Bachelor of Science degree in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. My husband Michael is also a fifth grade teacher at LQPV Schools and we have a one year old daughter, Emma.
My dedication and love for the St. Mary’s School and community developed immediately starting my first year. My first year of teaching was drastically different than most; moments of planning and prepping for that “perfect” first year were put on hold due to the devastating flood St. Mary’s endured that summer. However, through all the mess, the message I quickly learned was that St. Mary’s was a strong, loving family. I feel so blessed that God has provided me the opportunity to be part of the St. Mary’s family as a teacher! I have developed my classroom with many new and traditional methods of teaching to differentiate for a variety of learners. I use Google Classroom, Chromebooks, project-based learning, flexible seating, cooperative learning groups, and guided reading as just some of the methods to foster an effective and engaging learning environment.
